Panoramic House (under construction)

Located on the middle of a hill in the centre of Kingston Tasmania, admiring 180 degree breathtaking views across to Kunanyi (Mt Wellington) and River Derwent. The house is set on a wedge shape 450m² lot (smallest lot size in General Residential Zone) and designed with Passive Solar Design principal in mind. The main challenge in this brief was to utilise all external spaces efficiently. The resulting design is a compact building that feels spacious with continuity and flow between external and internal spaces. All bedrooms and main lounge area are north facing, benefiting from all day sun. Carefully selected various timbers such as Tasmanian Oak flooring and shiplap ceiling lining boards, Spotted Gum decking, Silvertop Ash external cladding and privacy screen, Blackwood kitchen, all sourced from sustainably-managed forests. Hand aged antique brass accent throughout. External metal cladding manufactured in Tasmania as well as Austral Bricks Hawthorn Red skirt walls.
